<rumour mill>

My bit:

Who knows what will happen in the graphics world. Your guess is as good as mine.

As far as apple/x86-64 goes, I see them going with a modified Athlon64 (Clawhammer) for their G5 processor.

Late 2003 will be pretty interesting indeed.

NV35 vs. R400... clearly, the enthusiast is the winner here. The coming price war will bring us all NV30s and R350s for bottom dollar prices, allowing the masses to experience 60FPS Doom 3 action for a few cents.

2003... What a year!

All these possible twists and turns and on top of that you've got:
x86-64, Clawhammer/Opteron, the dawn of 64-bit computing.
Windows"64" with enhancements to boot.
The dawn of BluRay data storage
Widely available DVD+/-RW by Thanksgiving (OH the sales to come!)
Microsoft's Secure Computing Gestapo, where openSource, unlicensed music, warez, and free speech are banned (yikes!)
NV35, rumors of NV40, R400
DOOM F'ing THREE
Possibly our first peek at Quake 4
Mandrake 10 anyone? Cross your fingers. 9.1 is awesome.
HyperTransport
DDR-2 (& DDR-3 for graphics cards)

It goes on and on.
