Curating a virtual exhibition.
The gallery can be viewed at www.dive.nihil.net.nz

The idea behind the virtual gallery space is internet community - and taking that into the production and display of art in space - as installation. solitary exploration of space. and the internet being a space of its own right.

The gallery has been built in 3ds max, it is still in the works - it is displayed on the internet 'in-browser' as a .wrl. These can be viewed with the appropriate plugin (which can be installed from the www.dive.nihil.net.nz website if you dont already have it). It is based on game design, where the user can move in the space and explore moving around the objects displayed in the gallery.
The shows will be sculpture based installations, giving a sense of physicality/tangibility that doesn't exist in virtual space.

This particular show I am looking for artists to contribute to is a wireframe show,
"wireframe is the skeleton - which most of us dont see in the 'final product'.
there are 3 stages to 3d model development - with similarities to other art forms.
the wireframe, the solid state, and the textured state."

If anyone is interested in exhibiting their .3ds models in this gallery space as wireframe, of if you have any question or are just generally interested in the idea please get in contact with me asap at: edwinastevens@msn.com
