View Full Version : Character: Girl in field
klingspor 03-27-2003, 08:53 AM Hi all,
this is my first work posted here, so please bear with me!
This is a still from a short anime-style animation I'm working on. I liked the setting and overall feel to this image, so I just rendered the still and tweeked it a little in Photoshop.
It's finished as I don't intend to make any major changes, so here I am, asking for some comments, critiques and hints on what to improve in my next works!
Enjoy!

Thanks for the nice comments!
The girl itself is modelled in Maya and rendered in BMRT, for which I programmed the cel-shader used here. The field is Maya Paint FX and the sky is a matte I did in Photoshop.
Now for the subtle ink-outlines, they're done in post. After much research I've come to the conclusion that post is the only way to go - sadly, no plug-ins or shaders I found would achieve the effect I was looking for, and they were usually terrible when it came to anti-aliasing. But this way works surprisingly well, I might add...
Maybe I'll post some more images of her later on, but at the moment I'm still working on her poses so I'll get that finished first!

How far along is the animation?
When the time comes, you MUST give us a link to the finished work!
Are you self taught or are you currently a student?
Would you be willing to share your cel plugin?
Oh, and did I happen to echo the chorus of "More, more, more!!!"?
