Anteru 03-27-2003, 08:52 AM I think the subject is enough. Btw. If you heard about it, why don't you use it?
If you didn't hear about it, check out: Aqsis (http://www.aqsis.com) :buttrock:

"Until January 2001
Alpha 0.2 - 0.4, support for subdivision surfaces and for matrices & arrays in SL "
thats what the aqsis-history says.

yep, it has SDS, and they've been just rewritten for speed.. around 10x faster than the old ones :)

yea it is pretty nice free renderman compliant program. Slower then prman but that is to be expected. Since BMRT is no longer supported it is a good solution.

But not much in some parts... and don't forget, Pixar has a lot more developers than Aqsis has.

Oh yea I agree completely. I just wanted to state it because some people when they see compliant jump to think it will run just as fast. I've personally been very impressed with Aqsis, and I use it at home for my needs there. It has a lot of promise too.
