View Full Version : floating menus?

How do I get the floating menus (numeric, Layer and statistics) to stay on my second 15" monitor? Everytime I restart LW modeler, the menus jumps back to my main 20" monitor.

Got the same problem. I had it once right but that was due to a nview setup and that didnīt work that well with maya so I deactivated nview and setup my second monitor with the displayoptions given in Win2k. Now open gl works better in Maya but with Lightwave I got the same problem you have. All I can say it schould be a graphics driver and graphics settings problem, not an Lightwave problem.

Is your modeler cfg read only? Every time you close modeler, it writes the window positions and sizes to the config. So unless you have your nview drivers set to always open in one of the monitors, it should open next where you closed it last.
I'm running a dual monitor setup here and I haven't had any problems with menus not staying where I put them...

I think Rumpus King has something with the CFG file. I had no problems with my menus/dlgs staying put on my secondary monitor once I change my cfg from read only.

It all depends on how you have your dual screens setup. If they are running off one NVidia based video card, just run Nview.
no idea on using 2 cards.

my Modeler CFG file was not set to "read-only". I'm running 2 GForce 4 cards...one GF 4 MX 420, and one GF Ti 4200. No matter what I do with the Nview settings, they always pops on my main 20" monitor. :annoyed:
