GreenDuckie 07-29-2007, 05:21 PM Hey there gang! I'm a senior at Littleton High School and I'm kind of new to the wonderful world of CG. I've been messing around with Photoshop and such. I'm getting the hang of it and I'm feeling much more comfortable with my tablet now. I'm not the best realistic artist but I'm trying to do some realistic things and just keep working on it. I also have some issues with color and light sources but that just takes time and practice. So anyway, here is my sketchbook and here is some sketches. :D Thanks. See ya!

So I've been in a really artistic mood recently. Hoorah! I've gotten a great idea for a painting (digital or other) as well as a semi-good character creation. :) I guess my ADD is slowing down for the week. I don't have any patience and usually wind up with 80 billion half done things. Anyway. Here is what i managed to conjure up in the past 48 hours.
The idea for a piece called "Scarborough Fair". You all should know the song.
"Are you going to Scarborough Fair?
Parsley, sage, rosemary and thyme,
Remember me to one who lives there,
For she/he once was a true love of mine."
First, this is my most favorite song of all time. Second, I looked it up on Wikipedia (<3) and was looking into the lyrics. I read that "Parsley, Sage, Rosemary, and Thyme" were popular ingredients used in love potions back in the Middle Ages. This brought fourth a spark in my head. A woman who is under a love potion, or a woman who has made all of these love potions and hoping for her true love to come to her. :) It made me happy. So I drew a little sketch. 8D

I also was in my "I'm going to draw some half assed fantasy stuff" mode and I was also learning stuff about open canvas and I started sketching this girl and then I kept sketching (omg!) and it turned out pretty good. So then I colored it and it became this tribal fantasy girl thing. :) I think it's pretty cool but I know I can go much further with it. I don't know if I have the time right now. I'm taking an acrylics class starting tomorrow and it lasts all week so I'm going to be focused on that. I think I'll try to do my Scarborough Fair piece during that time. Anyway. Here is my tribal girl thing. :0

Anyway. That's all. Enjoy. Comments and Critiques are more than welcomed. :) Peace.

Hey, thanks for posting! I will, for sure, post things done in my painting class. :) Here is the first part.
---
So today, I go to my painting class and like most week long painting classes the teacher starts out with the basics about the paints. "Acrylics can be used like watercolors or as like oils and every thing inbetween. They are so versatile." etc. etc. Since I've worked with acrylics before I clearly know that. So what we did was paint the whole page with a prime color and then make designs all over it. Then we put some gesso on certian areas and did some scratching. We let it dry. Then we took some Acrylic varnish gloss stuff and mixed it with the paint to make this cool translucent glaze thing. We painted with that. And then took some plain paint and painted over that. I was just painting like a mad person. mixing colors and such. it was fun. And since it is abstract I didn't care. I decided to call it Whale Feeding because I have artistic license and I can. :) Anyway. Here it is. :)
He said that this is going on just for the first days. Then we're going to be doing painting of pictures/sketches that we bring in, etc.
WHALE FEEDING! :B

This is to those who care. I found a great anatomy book at the book store today. it has great pictures and articles as well as some faux master copies. it's great. I love it. It's called "Anatomy for the Artist" by Sarah Simblet. :) Check it out. Enjoy. Peace.

More from my painting class. I've decided to call this "Fish Mistress" mostly because I like the sound of it. And because it makes no sense. Anyway. here it is. :) More abstrat nonsense. :)

Hey, thanks for the support. I hope to get some more substantial pieces up soon. :) Hope to talk to you soon. :)
Nice to see these... they look fresh, vivid, lovely
That anatomy book you are talking about is indeed nice. I've been having a look in it every now and then when I am at the local art store for nearly 2 years now lol but my girlfriend thinks I have enough books on anatomy for a while now (I've been buying quite a few books lately  )
Oh well... one day I will own it :D
Keep those paintings and drawings coming!

Oi. SO it's been forever since I posted anythign. Things have been crazy but I have managed to shell out some pretty decent traditonal art. I'm applying for colleges so I need to have a portfolio and it's a whole deal. But. I did my first oil painting. It didn't turn out as bad as I thought. And I thought it'd turn out bad because it was a self portrait and I'm really bad at drawing myself. D: So. Anyway. Um. I guess I'll start posting stuff again. I guess all in this post. Get ready! :o
some of it is old art, some new. some just random. I dunno. I just feel like I should post something.

Mrs. Loveitt. 18x20 charcoal on watercolor paper and then my self portrait which was a 24x30 canvas I think. something close to that. and then a kingdom hearts picture I did randomly 2 years ago. :) I love goofy. haha.

love and kisses.
