Hi there! Finally i found some time to finish my new matte and 3d scene.

I decided to put this image here as well along with 2d section.

The image inspired by russian fantazy book "The Ring of Darkness" by Nick Perumov. This is the Black Dwarfs docks hidden deep under the ground on the cave lake.
Well, as i imagine it =)

I did a 2.5D scene out of this matte.

very nice work. Your smoke and lighting in the quicktime ,look great. One comment is, watch you black levels in the right hand side rock faces. Some of them seem too dark as compared to the shadow areas at the base of the rock.

Cheers,
Tim

Good stuff Pavel, I like the fact that you went ahead and put together a short scene with the matt - what program did you use for 3d work?

Thank`s a lot, dudes!

I used 3d Max (camera mapping and a lot of 3d elements), PF + AfterBurn for smoke, and real fire composed in AfterEffects

Brilliant. I love the comp. Really great sense of scale.

great work, I love the water reflections and the animations just have a great sense of scale , I second the comment on the black levels , I also think the main big rock column almost in the center has a very blury edge , it should have way more resolution, also I find the rock walls texture with an overlay strange pattern texture on it, it just does not look like real rock wall, other than that the mood is really cool very cinematic look to it

way to go man

Thank`s a lot, guys!

Well, about black level i do agree ))) Will be more carefull next time.

But about wall pattern i disagree. I didn`t want the colomns look like the rocks around. I put some artificial dwarf pattern, not just a simple rocks. I think it`s a bit boring to have all the stuff in the "same way", you know. Actually i was inspired by some wall patterns in Moria (LOTR). That`s it =))

Again, thanks!

Im asking because i'm looking myself for some fire...
