Hi,

ASSEMBLY Summer 2007 (www.assembly.org (http://www.assembly.org)), the largest Finnish demo/lan party with 5000 attendees is conducting an experiment in creating an ad hoc grid computing cluster with 3000 PCs linked together to render a Blender movie (http://www.assembly.org/summer07/program/griddemo)

We originally considered rendering Elephant's Dream, but due to the complexities of the scenes leading into huge memory usage and long frame render times, we are now looking for an alternative Blender movie.

If you are interested in having your Blender movie rendered in a spectacular fashion, covered on AssemblyTV's TV broadcast and webcast and witnessed first hand by thousands of party visitors, please email me as soon as possible at abyss AT assembly DOT org. The event takes place next week, so we need to lock down the movie by 1.8.2007.

Key requirements of the movie
- roughly 1-2 minutes in length
- frames suitable for rendering on a "standard PC" (e.g. Pentium 4, 1 GB mem) in max 5 minutes per frame
- file size of full project is max 256MB
- free use of the project files and the movie in this context (e.g. distributing the project files, showing the final product on the party place and on TV, distributing the final movie freely in the net)
- music & SFX is optional, but preferred
- made with Blender (renderable with the latest stable Blender executable)

When submitting your movie for consideration, please provide a link to download the rendered movie (e.g. YouTube or download link).

Thanks for considering submitting your movie!
