View Full Version : Messiah/Lightwave Plugin Problem!

Crap. Without thinking I went ahead and laboriously rigged my character (a lightwave object) in Messiah without first reading about how to use Messiah with Lightwave. My bad. Turns out you have to send the object to Messiah from Lightwave using a plugin. Is there a way I can somehow still get my rigged version of the model back into Lightwave without having to redo it and lose days of work? Crossing my fingers here...
all your work is not lost. you can do all the rigging/animating you want. Here's what you do:
1)do all of your rigging/animating in messiah.
2)save your .fxs scene
3)quit out of messiah
4)fire up lw
5)launch messiah from LW
6)select your object and hit f12
then you will see that the object is now sent over to LW
if you have multiple objects you'll need to hit f12 for each
7)go back into lw and set all your object's deformation to last.
now you can save out a .lws scene and not have to worry about messiah being open when if you have to re-load the scene.
**if your objects have layers you might run into problems. so the best way to remedy that is to save all the layers as separate objects. then you can just add them to your bone deform effect.**
that should be it.

np dude. That process is probably the main way people use messiah with LW.
Now you have to animate that sucker and post it for us to see. :D
