View Full Version : Attaching Pop Eyes to Head - Help!

Okay, so my character has these pop eyes on his head (see attached file below) and I need help.

I've got the two eyelids rotating around the eyeball, what I need is for the lids to be able to rotate independently, yet stay attached to the head as it rotates and moves around. Anyone know how to do this?

When I attach the lids to the head and skin the character, the lids are fine until I unlock their rotation in the channel box so he can blink. Then the lids don't stay attached to the head as it moves. Help - I appreciate any advice!

Cheers!

it looks like it would be enough to parent the eyelids to the eyes and the eyes to the head, unless you skinned the character - in which case you would need to use bones and set weights for the eyelid vertices.

Try parenting the lids to a locator, then parent that locator to the head.

If you did skin the head, you could use the Rivet script avaiulable on High End 3D to give you a locator that sticks to the surface of the head, even when it deforms. Parent the eyes to that locator and you should be fine.
