Hey Everyone,

I was working on a male body and detoured a little just to do a quick Silver Surfer. Can you see anything wrong with it so far?

Thanx. I'll up the reflectivity... What about the model, can you spot anything I should fix?

umm... i think hands are a bit "strange". Maybe the thumb is too short and the other fingers are not very good defined. Maybe overall of the hand is too big.

Keep it up!

Actually, I'd say the texture/material you've got goin on now is pretty much right on the money.

I always imagined the surfer having more of a mercury/liquid metal kind of look, as opposed to polished silver.

Here's the head... I'm trying to reach a good balance between the statues and the illustrations I've seen of him. Does anyone have a good pic of Alex Ross' Silver Surfer from the Marvels miniseries?

Well I guess nobody had the picture... Anyways here's the torzo and the head together. I'm still working on the legs. Any C&Cs?

I really dig this, just please keep the shader work similar to what you have going...don't make him super polished and shiny like everything else 3D that lots of people do. Great modeling BTW.

Looks just like I imagine him to look - the texture works very well and I'm pleased you haven't gone with Terminator 2 style texture - although it would be interesting to see how that would work on him as well. Good job!

i'm not all that familiar with the silver surfer, but from the ref pics you have here it looks like his musculature needs to be more exaggerated and his head more oval shaped.

Looks pretty good, but I disagree... I think the insane reflective silver material looks good, I think you should make it more like the pic in the 2nd post. Modeling looks good, but maybe beef him up, and make his more oval like said before; also, put him in a more action-like pose! :D awesome work tho...
Cheers,

Nice. very nice. All I have to say is RIP the thighs more, he uses them so much for directional control you might want to emphasize that aspect. I'm also thinking maybe bulge the tricep and shoulder area a wee-bit more for overall aesthetic quality. I am curious about the effect you have in mind for reflective light or flowing metal effect that this model deserves. Are you working on this a an animated or still model?

Mmm... It seems that ther rendered product looses some of the muscle definition in the process. I might change the material a little, but I sure don't want to go all the way to the T1000 look, too liquid. I want him to look solid. I'm going to up the muscle def some... What else should I fix?

Here's a 3 view of him... I toned a little more the legs, shoulders, and a couple other muscles too. C & C's would help.

the top of his forearm could use some more cuts
and the side view of the shoulder the center muscle looks thin you might wanna spread it out a tiny bit.
his thumb nail should point towards the palm more it looks twisted
impressive model i must say
also he could use a little more dynamic pose:D

I'm still in the rigging. If I get the rig well enough I'll use him for animation. If not, I might just make some poses and still images. Thanks for the suggestions, guys. Hope this works

That's very nice stuff! I for one agree on the not-quite-mirrored surface.
