View Full Version : How do i link an object to a Vertex?
Pim_NL 03-27-2003, 12:13 AM I have an animated vertical Cylinder, with a Flex modifier applied to it.
I want to link a Dummy object to one or more vertexes at the bottom, but with the normal "Select and Link" button, it can't get it done..
Does anybody know how to link an object to a vertex?

add an edit mesh to the top of your mod stack, select the vert u want to bind to, then apply a 'linked Xform' modifier and select your dummy
thats should do it. be sure to kee that vert selected in the edit mesh, don't click away befoer asigning the xform
leme knw if u have any trouble

Mmno that would link the vertex to the object wouldn't it?, not the object to the vertex.
If you want the object to the vertex deal, I belive the answer lies with the "Attachment" controller. .. well I think that's what it's called. Hit the helpfile to check out what that controller can and can't do, and how to use it. It's not too complicated.

Gaggle, that's a little bit to compicated for me..
Antero, nothing happens when I press the "run script" button. Maybe because it was written for Max4.2?
I also tried this tutorial (http://www.3dluvr.com/content/article/51) from 3Dluvr, but the script gives an error when I run it, probably because it was written for Max3..
