I've got a vessel in one file being XREF Scene into another, but I don't get my light effects over with it :( Does Max just not do that or...?

No. Effects, environments etc. won't come with your xref or by merge. You need to create it again. sad but true.

well, i haven't made it to work ever. If there is away, i'd like to know it too.

Er, well there is a Merge button in the Environment and Effects windows that can specifically merge the various settings over. Not exactly perfect, but it works just the same.

I'm not sure if you can "Scene Xref" and thus get the effects and such over.. would be kinda neat if it worked like that. Anyway, Object Xref-ing indeed doesn't transfer the effects and such with it.

I'll try the merge... Though it's more of a hazzle, as I have several scenes using the same XREF file.

Just for the record, it shouldn't be a problem to Xref the objects as usual, and then apply the merged effects and environment settings onto them.
