Hey guys, well I did this in a class in highschool using photoshop, and I was wondering what you guys thought of these two pieces. The assignment was to advertise this Give 5 company that helps children who are rebellious and need a good influence on them... kinda like big brother big sister program. Anyways, let me know what you think of these two, I might be putting them in my portfolio to show to a college.

#1 - Lose the bevel/emboss affect on all the type, matter of fact don't use it at all. Lose the gradient bar at the bottom. Lose the noise on the type as well. Don't use a scan of a hand, just draw one. Put the "give 5" inside the palm. Keep the psychedelic background.
The bottom logo is a little too far down and to big. Move it up about halfway and mess with the size till its not overbearing but balances it out.

#2 - Lose the drop shadow. Straighten out the "Give 5" inside the palm to where its less curvy. Take the layer style out of the blue circle and just leave it blue with the white highlights. Lose the noise in the balm and/maybe leave the gradient but with less red. Keep the red with the type. Same goes for the bottom logo too.

I'd toss the first one as a portfolio entry unless it gets printed. The second has good quality, it just needs cleaned up. Try to stay away from layer effects as much as you can in the future. Too much can hurt the piece.
