it says they're releasing it again to theaters on march 28th to prepare for the dvd's release on like april 15th or something like that.... is that smart? why not post pone the dvd a couple more months? i'll probably just end up waiting for the dvd rather than seein' it on the big screen. no, i'll see it on the big screen but a lot of ppl probably won't :)

DVD release? what one, the Disney one? coz' i've seen the original in the stores and 2 special edition versions....
Nice to see it return to the theatres...too bad people are so culteraly illiterate that only a bunch of tits that vote for some stupid award can get people to the theatres... (people don't seem to able to think for themslves anymore...)

I think its worse then you state red_oddity. I think most people around me still have no clue that it even exists. Because like you said, its not American made, developed, produced, blah, blah, blah. One would have thought that if nothing else the association (minimal and limited though it was) that the Disney name might have prompted higher advertizing. What a huge shame because this is a GREAT movie and a must buy when the DVD is released.

You can order the originals already...
via animeDVDdiscount, or at Ghibli themselves (they have english subtitles on the original Japanese version)...
And when you live in Europe your lucky, because France has a huge anime animation culture and i bought the DVD in a ordinary shopping mall there, not less than half a year ago...saw the specials there aswell...
So, you might aswell order them via Amazone france (French, Japanses and English tracks and subtitles on the DVD, for 22 euros, that's 22 dollars.)
Screw the Disney release, you have to go through half an hour of crap sequel commercials first that can't be skipped (so much for the DVDs advantages)

sorry, but i think people should lay off,
i'm pretty positive that i am not the only one who
just thinks that spirited away just looks plain boring, i mean
the animation looks incredible, line mileage wise atleast (since
i have yet to see the film, BUT I WILL- sheesh!), seriously, as a consumer, what makes that film more appealing than any other crappy anime film, i sure as hell am not a fan of anime, or the cure for insomnia as i like to call it, but i've spoken with my animation instructors and my peers and it just LOOKS boring, i'm sure the story is GREAT, i mean disney wouldnt promote a movie that has a shitty story right????
or would they....
anyways
i'll keep my final opinion till after i see the thing, but it still LOOKS BORING
sincerly,

In response to 'Kaine_was_taken', maybe dude, you should see the film before laying down any judgements about it.
I've never been a fan of anime either, but the film was an eye-opener; I enjoyed it immensely, as did my six y/o daughter. I can assure you, it was anything but boring.
Do yourself a favour..... clear your mind, and go and see it.

We're only just seeing it now. It was worth the wait though.
