i'm trying to make new render and or display layer but i sometimes get a strange error message and maya won't let me make new ones

// Error: Not allowed to set attribute 'currentDisplayLayer' to that value. No display layer has number '51'. //

anyone know what this means?

i have a solution for your problem

you just have to keep trying to make those new render layers

and eventually it will work

continuing to make new renderlayers from the menu does not always work

type this in the

command line

createRenderLayer;
