I'm looking at adding Blender to my pipeline and have lots of assets that I've created externally that I'm importing to test things out and learn Blender better.

I have some OBJs from another modelling package which constitute a BASE MESH and a bunch of MORPH TARGETS. How do I convert the seperate meshes to be shape keys?

Is there a way to export shape keys as individual meshes (preferably OBJ) whilst maintaining the point order? (to get stuff out of blender and workable with external apps?

I noticed a button when importing OBJ labelled Morph or something, but couldn't figure out what to do with it.... (my tests didn't work)

I can export the assets in different formats if there's a better way (these started as Lightwave endomorphs)....

Cheers

Mike

a friend of mine once wrote a script to do something like this..

well, he wanted to get the shapes from Make Human 0.8/0.9(cant remember witch version) into blender..

ill see if im able to track down that script.. maybe that its of use :)

edit: re-reading your post.. wait, you want to get shape-key's out of blender? not sure how to do that.. as separate obj's

What you are asking for looks a little like this:
http://www.blender.org/development/release-logs/blender-240/shape-keys/

You can duplicate an object. This object can be pinned and given its own shape key. I don't know if that means that you can import multiple objects that way, or export each instance with its own shape key as a seperate object. Maybe you should ask this over at Blenderartist forums... I bet that Fligh knows the answer.
