Title: Save The Elves Society #2
Name: Alejandro Gutiérrez Franco
Country: Mexico
Software: Photoshop

Character for a graphic novel. In this world, some humans make some money helping the elves to scape from the maquiladoras (sweat shops) in where they work as virtual slaves. They have to avoid the usual orcish (mercenary) patrols.
Done in Photoshop with custom and modified dry media brushes, over a scanned pencil drawing. Reference used for some elements (helmets, weapon, embroidery). I have applied here all the useful critique received at my previous image (thanks guys!). Comments and critiques welcome.

I really like the colors and style, i'ts an interesting piece with a story behind it :)
The only thing that looks out of place is the girl with the gun, she doesn't have much depth to her. Like both of her legs look like they're in the same plane, but one should look like it's further back than the other, the same with her arm holding the gun. I think more shadows & color variations could have helped that.

Hi Alejandro,

Again, nice work...although I would have liked to see a little bit more change in image. It looks a lot like the previous one. I know it's a series..but you sort of get the feeling it's the same image except the characters are posed differently and you changed the baddies in the background for orcs. Just my opinion, though.

Um, I think the human's right arm looks a little awkward, kinda like it's twisting. You might also wanna add some contact shadow to the leg that's on the stone...seems to be floating there.

The little girl's face seems to be bulging a little on the right. (Character's left).

Sorry if I'm way too nitpicky....just trying to help. :)

Love your work man. Your style is so simple, but the textures and patterns are beautiful. Keep it coming!

Thank you for your words everyone.
Maura: The tones you suggested are not so hard to apply. I'll check them right away. perhaps putting some highlights on her right arm and leg. I think her skin parts also need some highlights too.
Juan Carlos: Maybe you are right with the similarities of this and the previous image. I developed both illustrations at the same time. I also wanted to reassure the process, didn't want to forget any step.
I'll check out the arm and also the feet's shadow. I can see clearly the mistake in the Elven girl's head! The shape of the hair is making the face bulky. The pencil drawing looked fine; the problems starts when I give volume to the figures.
Brady: I'm glad you like my style. I'll post more works soon.
Serena: My first 5 stars in this forum! That's encouraging. :)
