Well this is a bit old now, but I thought I'd throw it up and see what the CG community thinks. It's a student piece... my first 2D animation, and a technique I've been trying to experiment with more. Because of that, I'd like to get some C&C on the look and technique. Any critique of cinematography/storytelling would be welcome as well. Thanks.

Most of the animation was done in Flash; however, 3D Studio Max was used for the water ripples and leaves falling... qualifies as "CG" I think.

Doesn't matter much for critique purposes, but the story of one girl's sacrifice to save her friend and allow her to grow up here is intended as a metaphor for coming of age in general (Innocence is sacrificed to the altar of knowledge and wisdom). But anyway... Thank you for any crit.

Heeey, this piece is way cool. Its got great style to it. The sound design was excellent too. Really added alot to the impact of the very stark and simplified style. Great animation, Great work, five stars. Hooray for 2D.
