A quick environment/lighting test. Was trying to match the look of the original photo.
Geometry was roughed in pretty fast, just simple chamfered boxes.

Trying to match lighting took a few hours of experimenting. Eventually I had to make my lights a bit different because the scene was getting overblown with too much blue light in the corner.

Setup: 4 object lights on the side panels, 1 area light in the background ceiling, 1 above head green area light, 1 blue area light on the right.

Glossy reflections used on side walls, and floor.

Max 4.2 rendered with Brazil r/s

Post work in photoshop: low gausian blur on far back wall to give it some fake DOF, hue/saturation adjustment layer to make colours more vibrant.

i think your render actually looks better than the original photo.
The original looks a bit too clean and cheap, yours look solid and real. Good Job!!

Now put in the girl :)

The photo is mainly tones of light blue, while your render is more purplish.

The walls are also smoother in the photo- they don't want hard constrasting shadows anywhere else but on the model :beer:
