I been looking to change my default gateway. I remember to do it this way.
Local Area network ,
Properties -- >TCPIP-->Default Gateway
except i can't seem to find the LAN bit. I am using win 98 *cough*

it's been a while since i used windows 98, but off the top of my head...
control panel -> networking
in there is a list of cards and the protocols assigned to them. click the one that says:
TCP/IP -> your LAN card name
and click properties. from here you can manually assign IP, DNS, gateway, etc.
don't click the icon for the card itself, nor TCP/IP for your dialup adapter as that won't get you to where you need to be.

what elvis said, but to just clear things up you need to click on the gateway tab, after you have double clicked on TCP/IP -> your LAN card name. Dont forget to restart :-) (bloody win98)
BTW if you only have 1 TCP/IP in the network control panel, that is ok just as long as the only adapter is the network card.
