I don't know, writing all those books he sounds awfully well edumacated. You know how those smart guys can be, talking nice, knowing things, living in a house with running water.... crazy stuff like that. :p
Great stuff!

I have a couple of Dan's books and they have turned me into a major Dan-Fan! I loved the detail in his interview and HIGHLY recommend 'Digital Cinematography & Directing' to everybody it generic but when it does get app specific in pictures he adds some for LW, Maya, 3DMax and others as much as possible.
This Dan fan says Dans the man!
OK I'll go home now.

WHOA, Dan!!! Nice to see you here. I noticed in the interview that you visited CG Channel but have never seen you around CG Talk before. Does this mean you will at least occasionally hit the Lightwave forum here at CG Talk. I know a few thousand people that would literally be begging to hear from you in it.

Sure - I'll click in often.
First, I have to come up with a cool handle... how about Proton? No, I think that's used.... how about snotface? No.... that belongs to someone else....
Well, I'll think of one and see you on the forum..
Dan
p.s. Anyone going to NAB? I'll be doing a demo at the MGM,

fletchman, give up some details of that character builder set. I've been eyeing that for a while, and there is not much of a description on it. Would you say a newbie would need some, or any prerequisite to go through the set?:wavey:

Hi Onlooker,
Dan Ablan takes you through the steps in building a original humaniod character. He goes through the box method of modeling and also gives great hints and tips on uses of other tools to sculpt it. He then does weighting, rigging, animation and rendering taking you through the whole process start to end. I would say that as a newbie it is a fantastic resource and also gives you insite to creating a unique charachter without a backsketch reference.
