Title: Kehel, elf warrior (character)
Name: emiliano calisti
Country: Italy
Software: Modo, Photoshop, XSI
Hi all :)
This is my latest work, Kehel.
She's a young warrior with only some experience in the battlefields, so her dresses n' weapons are some sort of basic gear: leather, metal and iron with a little "tribal" touch.
The goal of this project was to make a complete character for animations so Kehel was fully rigged using the XSI's basic rig and using shapemanager for a little set of expressions.
Modeled in Modo, rig, shaders and render in XSI, color correction in photoshop.
C&c are really welcome !

nice work, however there are some crits! her facial expression is rather strange, and lacks any meaning. her skin neads some texture, especially on arms and legs and she seams to have some wrong proportioned hips.

Awesome armor texturing.
The overall model is great and the lighting too.
The one thing that gets me if she is a warrior why is she wearing something that exposes her chest so much? Easy kill in the battle if u ask me lol. 4 stars

to me this is a great model, the only problem that i really have is that her pose is a bit manly. it looks a little to strong for a woman. i also like to detail in he armor

I would agree that its looks too masculine, the render is done but I dont think it would be hard to fix; a) the shadows in the face makes her features look harder and more masculine b) the shoulderpads make her look broad-shouldered c) the hips arent wide or curvy enough
Dont get me wrong though, it's a great model and it's lit really cool too!

wider hips would help the figure to be less top-heavy and masculine. I think the facial expression works because it gives her the appearance of unpredictability instead of your typical "I'm a sexy, mean, chick worrior that is hot and would rock your world pose."
It is a nice non-cliche expression and I would sugest you keep it.

thanks for the comments and critics guys, really appreciated :)
About her masculinity I wanted to give her a "bad-ass" warrior look, growt in a man-driven background she can't act in a sweet way: her pose should look like that, but this is just a pose thing.
I agree that the shoulders are a little too big for a woman and the rig there needs a little fix.
The hips looks flattened but I think it's just for her pose (twisted hip and leg) and the camera angle, in the shaded version (http://www.twistedmoon.it/img/3d/kehel/kshaded_01.jpg) or in the work-in-progress turntable (http://www.twistedmoon.it/img/3d/kehel/kehel_tt_lr.mov) (med-res (http://www.twistedmoon.it/img/3d/kehel/kehel_tt_hr.mov)) this is less noticeable.
thx again guys, some polygon tweaking incoming before the animations
..I wanted to give her a "bad-ass" warrior look
Well I think you hit the nail on the head! Her gaze looks almost psychotic--like she's about to engage in battle and she lives for it.
Good stuff!
