View Full Version : Color Info Palette
ambda 07-18-2007, 02:38 AM Okay i might be daft, but cant for the life of me figure out how to keep the setting for color info palette to stay as HSV - not RGB.
I searched the Painter forum here for answers, but only found one thread about it and no one seemed to know if it was possible or not.
I mean, it doesnt even stay as HSV when i save the layout :/
Anyone know something i've missed about it?
Using P9.

Hi,
I don't think there's any way to keep the Color Info palette displaying HSV.
One thing that might help, though, is to add that menu command to a Custom Palette. Now, whichever is currently displayed, RGB or HSV, when you click the menu command button, it'll toggle to the other display.
Oddly enough, even though my Color Info palette was displaying RGB when I tried to add Display as HSV to my Custom Palette, the only option was Display as RGB. It works anyway and it's a lot faster than using the Color Info menu to change the display.

I use a shortcut key. Go to edit -> preferences -> customize keys -> Shortcuts drop down menu and select Palette Menus -> expand on color info and give it any keyboard shortcut.
Every time when you start Painter you use this keyboard shortcut.

Thanks, genocell.
That's a much better idea. I just set mine to Shift+H.
