What I would like is advice and day to day knowledge on how to use AM for pro and studio work. Work arounds and best way to use AM and other apps like Wings 3d and After Effects.

how about -

1) comic-characters? I've done my fair share of mud-slinging at AM but an inspiration thread would be great. We need to show what AM can do.

2) rigging secrets and tips? Everyone wants to be better at this stuff.

3) Head modelling - and for a start, how about self-portraits (comical or photo-realistic?) Or even more fun (and I'm thinking of Brians portrait of WEGG above) our guesses/models of what each other might look like..?

Yeah - Tips and tricks on how to make A:M get along with other progs. As in, I wanna render in LW and model in A:M and so on. In fact, I really do want to know how to do that one.

The bug list was a good idea, but it's obvious a forum is not the best vehicle for documenting or comparing bug notes since A:M software evolves so frequently.
The tips and trick section is a good idea. Expand it some by isolating the subjects into expert sub forum categories. Build individual stickies for scripting (story forming), storyboarding, modeling, texturing, rigging, lighting and choreography.

Spelling is hard enough, but it's difficult to become a
jack-of-all-animation-trades. :)

We are not even supposed to mention feature requests on the list so we should do that here. Basically, we should do the kind of stuff that has got hash working on creases and the renderer. These two issues will need attention in the future too (particularly the renderer).

Hows about a sticky thread where plugin authors can announce plugin releases? That way it would be a running list currently developed plugins, be easy to find and give guys like Arthur and Marcel a little recognition for their hard work.

What say you?

If people want to post their new AM plugins they are more than welcome. But. . . I don't think it needs a special sticky place.

Not for just posting new plugins, but for development discussions in general, perhaps?

I'm actually in the process of re-working eggprops and I think giving away some of the less popular models is probably not such a bad idea.

The Watanabe plug-ins:

MirrorSplines v.1.3

This plug-in seems to mirror one side to the other. It will automatically
fix the position of left and right bones, decals, and automatically allocate
the CPs. The site dicussed some version issues, but it seems the version 1.3
upgrade from 1.25 contains no new functionality except it comes with
English. It will work in AM v. 9-10.5. You must register to get it and it
costs 1000 yen, which I understand is about $9 US.

StampUnwrap v.1.1

This plug-in fixes the distortion of a cylinder and sphere decal. Version
1.1 over version 1 is, again, the one with English but otherwise no
additional functionality. It was unclear if you needed to purchase this
plug-in separately from MirrorSplines, but no price was listed. The site
seems to say if you are a registered user for MirrorSplines, then the full
functionality of StampUnwrap is enabled.

Iwo6Import/Export
This plug-in converts Lightwave data in and out of AM formats. It is only
for AM 10+ and it is free.

CountCP and SelectCP
These are included with MirrorSplines at no additional cost. They count the
no. of CPs and splines and will enable you to select a CP by its ID.
