Hello, I'm new to these forums.

I've searched these vast forums, and I wasn't able to find a topic on this. So here it goes: I'm actually looking to model a skatepark. This skatepark would be used just for design purposes, and I would be designing blueprints based off of the model produced. I am looking to use true physics, (dynamics) when I animate a ball to go down the ramps. Just to get an idea as to how far I am able to put the ramps apart, what angle, etc.

My question was... when designing these ramps, I want to have a nice, even curve. I created a spline, and copied that spline. Now I want to find a way to bridge the two splines together... Much like the polygonal bridge tool used to connect edges in polygon mode. Or should I just start modelling this skatepark using nurbs and use those CVs?

you should be able to loft the two splnes together, which would give you a plane in those two splines...

I use maya so the loft tool is in the "Surfaces" Menu, if you click on the option box to the side it gives you options for polygon, subd, nurbs and bezier (which I don't really know what the last one does). It also gives a bunch of other options.

In 3ds there should be a Loft modifier (it's been a while since I've worked in 3ds max but if I remember right there is one).

Hope this helps.

Are you using max or maya? you could use surface tools if you want to use splines. I would rather use splines than nurbs. I work with 3dsmax9 though. i am not too familiar with maya.
