Name: ken dong
Country: China
Software: 3ds max, VRay
hey, guys, this is my latest work. the idea is in this chinese labyrinth, there are thousands of gates look exactly the same, but the character is supposed to find the three gates which are being protected by the stone Bixi in order to carry on the task, Bixi is the name of the ninth son of Dragon in chinese myth. modeled in 3dsmax 8, rendered with vray 1.5 RC3. C&C are very welcome...

very nice. I think in the final render it's to hard to see the awesome detail on the statue head. From the looks of your wireframe it looks really really well done, but in the render I am not seeing that same effect. either way, awesome work 4 stars:!)

thanks a lot for the stars. :) i do understand what you mean, i in fact worried it would look a bit too detailed then it would lose the mood, because this place is supposed to be quite old, so i tried to decrease the details with the material, however i think it may be a bit overdone ,haha ... :)

a very nice mood in this image.
I have to agree though, there`s a lot of modelling that is lost in the render.
It`s hard also to figure out the source of the light that is on the ground.

great work man, live to see the wire, but i agree, not much detail in the final image, i think u should decrease the bump or displacement of your shaders, may be that will help, any how thats a great image, weel ligted, textured and modeled, 4 stars
