Hya

I was looking at the page that maxon published on their site when they first release dirtnuts
( can be seen here (http://www.maxon.net/pages/dyn_files/dyn_htx/htx/195/00195_00196.html) )

that was two years ago, and I was just wondering if there would be continued devlopment of it, or at least, updates to keep it working with later versions of c4d, because at the moment I'm having a lot of fun with it and would hate to see it disapear into nothingness :)

I downloaded it last night after you had posted the link...only problem is everytime I run the plugin C4D closes completely without warning? Is this a common occurence??

I've never had any problems with it. I hope they keep it alive. It's one of my favorite plugs.

Oh lol JIII..........apparently I do not know how to use it. I thought you activated it from the Plugins menu. I will try what you suggest. Thanks.

You can use it from the plugin menu to generate a bitmap texture that can then be applied to the model (or vertex map).

I actually discovered the shader method a few weeks ago.

You just load it into your diffusion channel anddd then tweak it to get the appropriate level of grime.

bhodiNUT ceased all development with DNs and BAKER in late 2000 ( a tale of accountability lost ). I have no idea if MAXON will update any of it or not ( I think DN and BAKER would come far after SLA, and well, we know that story ). I have my own things that are similiar in use but will have to wait for daylight until other things are finished.

yeah I remember my first attempts at using plugins, I tried to load chanlum inside an empty coffee thingy. resulting in the quick and permanent death of whatever file i tried to use it on.

Yup Joel that is what I was doing and it caused C4D to crash every time. I am using version 8 and haven't tried it on version 7 yet. I have put it in both the diffusion and the bump channels. Works great!!
