View Full Version : How to straighten default camera?

just as the title says - how do i straighten the default editor camera, when i have tilted it using NUMPAD3+RMB. i dont want to reset the focal length, just the tilt angle.

you could set the a camera as you wish, and then save the file in the c4d root folder. You should call the file 'new', and everytime you launch c4d (or create a new file) it will open as your default setting. Maybe there is an easier way i'm not thinking of.... anyway hope that helps

use the camera tool (you have to look in the command manager, it's not docked in the default layout). it shows the settings of the editor camera in the coordinate manager. set the P rotation to zero.

bobtronic: great thanks, that did the trick. is the camera tool new to R10? i havent seen it in previous versions.

the camera tool has always been there and was in fact in the default layout for previous versions. it was the first thing i put back when maxon decided to 'improve' the layout and took it out.

it is also the best way to reset the focal length of the default camera if you accidently zoom it rather than move it.

no, I think it's there since R6.
