View Full Version : a beginners texturing question
shizzle 03-24-2003, 05:24 PM if i have created a can in c4d .. and i have textured it with a red mettalic color .. but then want to add some text to in .. (or any other texture) on top how would i do this?? myt text is created in adobe photoshop .. i know how to merge this into c4d ... but i need other texture layers too ..

you can use an alpha for the text and use two textures.

sorry i dont think my original question was that clear.. my problem is that when i drag a texture on to my can .. and then drag another texture on.. the second texture i drag replaces the original .. hence i dont know how to use two texture to the same object..
try messing around with the order. of them
I dont know exactly but one with the alpha channel has to be either on top or on bottom

The one with the alpha channel needs to be on top. You might also want to turn off Tile for the text texture so you only get one copy of it.

When you drag the second texture on, are you dropping it on the object or on the texture tag? - if you drop it on the tag you will replace it, if you drop it on the object you will get two.
Also on my graphics card I can only see one at a time, clicking on the two tags swaps which one I can see but it renders fine.
