For all those budding artists eating baked beans each night, we now have the student version of R8 (XL bundle) available in the UK. If you're not in the UK, contact your nearest Maxon office or supplier for details of availability.
The student version is significantly cheaper than a full commercial licence, the main difference is that you cannot produce commercial work with it. I won't put all of the terms and conditions here, nor the prices as these may vary slightly from country to country.
I will point out that I am slightly annoyed as nothing like this was available when I was a student ;-) I'm not jelous at all, oh no, not me. Its not like I had to save up for months on my paper round just to buy some 16 colour interface program to run on my 50mMHz computer...
