View Full Version : clearing UNDO?

I read the thread from several years ago, but its closed.

I tried the advice in it, of setting my undo from the current 6 to 1, then back to 6 as a way to clear the UNDO list. Didn't work. I tried creating 7 nulls, then undo-ing them. 6 went away, 1 stayed. That makes sense.

But what's happening is that a series of objects buried deep in the OM keep turning back to green dots. I dig down to find them, turn them to default, do many more things (more than 6 I think) and when i next hit Cntl-Z the things are back to green dots. Repeat until you lose your mind.

Short of exiting the drawing, what can I do to clear the undo buffer so these object stay the way I left them?

Because I wanted to remain sane, I again turned the objects to defualt-gray dots, then closed the drawing. I re-opened it to find them on-green. Demonic forces at play? The objects are glasses of booze on a bartop. Maybe they're trying to tell me something.

Any help would be appreciated.

A thread of one mumbling nut.

I had saved and exited, they still loaded 'on'. I knew there had to something else at work. The objects had animation tracks.

But back to the first question--is there a good way to clear the undo buffer since the posts in 2005?

Would've been interesting to see how long you can carry on the monologue :D
Janine Pauke did a little script called Flush Memory (http://forum.3dfluff.com/showthread.php?t=56), you may find it working for you.

The problem you have with the scene is odd indeed. Does it happen with every scene or just one particular?

I guess I didn't write clearly. The problem was that the objects had animation tracks that were controling their on/off state, I took the objects from another project. I must have had then turn on or off for certain frames. That's my problem.

Otherwise, I can look at that script, and the setting back to undo of 1 should still work.

Hey Ernest,

You can clear the undo buffer by setting the undo depth to 1 in Prefs>Document.
