Off to bed now , good night to all ;)
07-21-2007, 05:25 AM
as the title says, droped some bones and added a view vertexloops. Rendered in blender internal.
07-22-2007, 06:41 AM
painted an texture and redid the uvmap in reverse order. Next time i can make a proper texture in fireworks.
Have a good sunday all.
07-24-2007, 08:21 AM
I think this is the kind of outfit people are wearing in fitness centers right? ;P
07-24-2007, 08:38 AM
just a nother pose test
07-25-2007, 07:37 AM
before i finish the texturing of the robot I want to know how the surounding will look, so I started work on that.
07-27-2007, 05:01 AM
checking out the possibilities of Blenders procedural textures.
07-29-2007, 08:28 AM

07-29-2007, 08:56 AM

08-10-2007, 04:03 AM
I was away for a week making an unfolding menu structure for a website.
well i still got 81 days left seems ample time. Next I will start making some fitness equipment. thx for viewing
08-20-2007, 10:53 AM
apps to fill the room.
08-20-2007, 10:56 AM
for your convenience also a look from the other side.
08-22-2007, 05:23 AM
been finetuning ik solvers for the robot for easier animation later on and working on the weight pull machine. In xsi I knew how to invert the movement of the weight and the pullbar, in blender I have to find out how think its possible though.
Time left: 69 days, 7 hours, 41 minutes, 51 seconds.
will it be a swimming pool, with the stair?
the red-green-blue colour version looked a bit better than the green one in my opinion.
in this one http://assets.cgsociety.org/challenge/entries/18/13520/13520_1185262694_large.jpg
he is having a strange deformation on the front of his pelvis, it's a bit visible too when he sits but not so much, I guess it's a weighting problem, if you change the weight of the leg bones on the pelvis to zero it should be right.
08-23-2007, 12:10 AM
thx anna , its going to be a fitness room. I my self like the green and silver version better. thx for commenting.
08-23-2007, 04:13 AM
finished the apps and placed them in the room this a test render to see whats missing and how the colors match. thx for viewing.
08-23-2007, 04:32 AM

I didnt wanna withold this funny pic of the puffin robot. Blender realy is an amazing software, check it out now its free.
08-28-2007, 09:48 AM
got the weightpull machine to work so that the weight and the pullhandle move counterwise.
08-28-2007, 11:08 AM
just been experimenting with the robo texture.
08-29-2007, 10:37 AM
put shadow on to see how the scene looks with shadows ;)
09-05-2007, 04:37 AM
been adding a control panel to the walky's and then had a problem getting the duplicated one to not move finally found how , well thats because im new to animation in blender. now I can control the speed of the walking strap with an ipo so next thing is getting the robot on it. Im thingking off getting it to run very slow or very hard, both could be funny. off to bed now.
09-08-2007, 03:23 AM
did my first animation test with robot and its looking fine.
09-12-2007, 04:10 AM
had problems with getting the uv map out with only the selected faces, must be an error in the script or incompatebillity with the 2.44 blender version, I worked around it by taking a screen capture and use that instead. Oh well.I think the fresh colors of the gym turned out fine.
09-30-2007, 07:46 AM
had the comp render for 5 hour but ican see now how the end product is going to be, great.
09-30-2007, 08:08 AM
here another test anim.
10-28-2007, 01:44 PM
next one will be the one to upload as entry. computer stopped just rendering the last frame now I only have to edit them togeteher and add some sound.
10-29-2007, 11:57 AM
uploaded the flv animation and the big jpg via the cg uploader.
10-29-2007, 12:17 PM
no tiff upload possible via ftp!!! In the rules it said I also had to upload an tiff in above 300 dpi format , but the website wont let me, when I enter animation as challenge it says no need for tiff upload and when i choose illustration it says youre not taking part. I assume you changed the rules midway, nice to keep us posted. If not I expect a staffmember to inform me personaly that a tiff file is still required and the not being able to a slipup of the webdevellopper. ;P
goodluck to the other entrants.
Ps. I worked all weekend to get the bloody thing finished and today i get an email the deadline is postponed 2 weeks. Talking about strage behaviour ;)
I made my entry mainly with opensource software, only the last hours i used magix music maker to quickly merge the video and sound together as I didnt had time to find out the quirky way it worked in blender.
10-29-2007, 03:03 PM
Fantastic! Texturing is very good and i am waiting for this robot to move. I like that golden silver one most!
Good luck with uploads.
You could throw some sampleloop in Kraftwerk style ;)
I think tiff is just necessary for illustration category, they also have to make it at high resolution, because they want to print it somewhere.
but where's your flv, I can't see it, am I blind?
the render is nice.
10-30-2007, 12:02 PM
Hmm , guess a tiff isnt nessesary for animation entrys, the flv was uploaded through the special uploader where it went I dont know, are the animations of other participants visible?
10-30-2007, 03:44 PM
I tried for 2 days to submit the final rendered movie but the uploader is faulty. So i uploaded to youtube. Email me the ftp settings so I can upload the flv directly to cgnet for judgement. Using a beta uploader for a contest isnt that profesional. ;P

10-30-2007, 03:49 PM
for the people who like to see the end result, mind the quality is low due to flv compression.

Robot doing his daily fitness exersises to keep his body in shape.
Used blender for modeling animation and video editing.
Audicity for sound editting and magix music maker to combine soundandvision.
