View Full Version : What am I doing wrong? (Scripted shatter)
Pongo 07-09-2007, 10:13 PM I'm trying to create a shatter effect. (Massive thanks to Alan McKay for his tut)
Here is a rough scene file (edit: scene file removed) that shows the problem I am having though. There are 2 issues.
1. at the start there is a large clump of garbage polygons that come out.
2. the frames in the preview scene do not match the rendered frames.
I hope I'm just missing something simple here.
Thanks

1) Have no idea what the issue you are seeing here.
2) PF Source > System Management > Integration Step: Make the Viewport and Render settings the same.

For #1, it's the first particle that comes out. If you scrub the scene you can see that the first particle is just a mess of faces. If you cange the display mode from geometry to points, you can see a large amount of points spawned at the first point of contact. After that everything works correctly.
#2,...That looks like what I was missing for that part.
One down, one to go. Any Ideas on what is causing the bad polys?

Looks like the problem is solved now. I rebuilt the mesh and now things are working properly.
