RobotClayton 07-09-2007, 12:16 AM I just got z brush. maybe this is a stupid question, maybe not, but why do my models look all pixely? It gets worse if I zoom in. How can i fix this? I have an OK video card (geforce 7600), so that shouldn't be the problem. Any clue?
Thanks.

zbrush does not use your video card (at least 3d), its software based and use SCALE instead of zoom.

Yeah, that's what I've been doing... It's a shame, if I scale it's like my brush is smaller. Oh well, no biggie. Thanks.

Hi Robert -
What you are doing is scaling the display of the object, and not the object itself.
Pixols (the 3d pixels in zbrush) are square, just like pixels. If you zoom into an image in Photoshop, you will see the same thing happen.
To zoom in 3d -
Pressing 0 (Zero) on the keyboard will make sure your document is at 100% (so you won't get pixely)
Make sure your object is drawn on the canvas and edit mode is active (t).
Hold down ALT.
Press your left mouse down outside of the object.
If you move the mouse around now, the 3d object will move, or translate, around the canvas.
Now if you let go of ALT, moving the mouse will now zoom in or away from the camera.
Hope it helps. It looks confusing, but can become very natural.
Edit - Looks like you already figured it out - will leave it in case it helps someone..
best
