hey buddy, looking good there. Only thing I would say about this piece is that the textures on his bow and face are a bit off. The bow looks like well...its made of crap (no offence, thats just what it looks like). His face is pretty good actually, but for a guy with big beefy sideburns he has no stubble whatsoever on his face. To me, it just looks a little off.
Apart from that dude the image is pretty damn cool, especially if your just beginning in 3d. Anyway cheers dude, keep up the good work. ;)

I think it looks good. Not newbie at all. What touchup work did you do in photoshop? Did you do all the modeling too?
On the constructive side, here are the little things that caught my eye.
As a still image, it does not convey much of a story. It appears more like a frame out of an animation or a frame from a game cut scene. If you wanted this to stand alone, you may want it to be more expressive.
I would agree with John that the texture on the bow does not look right. Minor detail. Looks like you are wrapping some wood texture around it - but it does not really look like it would be made of wood. At least - not parts of the bow -like were the string is attached.
The fletching seems washed out by the light – it might be better to have it highlighted on the left and darker on the right. You do have some little hints of this.
Keep up the good work!

woa. Its really good, i especially like the blurred backgroud and halo effects.
I can see no faults except the arrows, they are all the same, but it dosent really matter.
