In general CINEMA 4D 9.6 shoudl work with Vista, you should be prepared for some inital trouble though.
Due to Vista using a mapping mechanism to prevent applications from changing anything in the progam files folder you should not install it in the default folder but a folder seperated from the program files i.e. C:\MAXON.
Also the registration information might make some trouble due to a similar mapping mechanism applied to the registry. In worst case giving the user admin rights (maybe only during installation) should make this work.
Officialy CINEMA 4D 9.6 does not support Vista since Vista became available long after the final release of 9.6.
CINEMA 4D R10 has been adjusted to the peculiars of Vista and should not show any trouble.
e[dub]: Vista has been available officialy for some months now. Most new systems are sold with it preinstalled for some time now.
