Title: Siren
Name: Emile Noordeloos
Country: Netherlands
Software: Painter

(Large image) (http://features.cgsociety.org/gallerycrits/205479/205479_1184090075_large.jpg/)
..
Making herself comfortable with items that came from the sunken ship….and keeping the decaying body of an unfortunate sailor boy close…
Made with Painter X except for a few color tweaks in PsCs. The only ref image I used was for the right hand which actually gave me most the trouble. Time taken: too much…
and too many details, but it was such a challenge and so much fun to visualize the structure and texture of the variety of items and characters in this scene…..…

I think "too much" is not enough .. this will take forever to complete ..
I don't know what to say.. it's stuning ..
a lot of things happening here .. and what you should do is, to print this on large scale and sell it .. and I guarantee, I'll be the first to buy it ..
Amazing ..

Amazing work Emile! Your hard work really paid off, the details and textures are stunning! I really love it!
The face is a little bit "flat" maybe, compared to the other parts of the picture (not really flat, but I think that the right cheek could be slightly darker... just my taste ;))
5 stars well deserved, more if I could!

Wow really nice work my friend. I see you left alot more raw brush strokes in this work or maybe just made it feel more "painterly" than your usual super tight renders. I like the detail a lot. This is one of those images you can't truely appreciate unless you see it big but even small it looks fantastic. But hey, where is your signature? You cant make fantastic art like this and not put a signature! How dare you!

Jose, Jean-Denis, Maxim, Waheed: Thank you for your nice comments.

Maher, Thanks, for the nice suggestion. I’ll let you know when that happens.:)
Every painting I make has its challenges and I learn a lot by not giving up but continue to experiment until I get the results which pleases me and yes it took a long time to complete: all my free time of these last 2 month. I hope to make use of the new experience in my next painting which may have less details. For instance I like the way the sailors is painted: not overly detailed and with some rough and unfinished parts here and there….. I just might continue with that style ….

Dianae, thanks my friend. The face, it changed a lot from the initial face with which I started this painting. ( see my screenshot gallery (http://http//www.digitalpaint.nl/screenshots-more/?file=Siren/)) My attention was more focused on the items surrounding her. Actually to me, this painting isn’t finished but after 2 month I grew tired and blind to the flaws in the painting. So yesterday I decided to stop working on it and think of a new project

Ahmad, Stina: Thank you :)

Corey: thanks, Yes I did and I like it. Wait for my next painting..
Oh well about my signature, you know I don’t like details :)
(actually I forgot….:argh: (http://forums.cgsociety.org/misc.php?do=getsmilies&wysiwyg=1&forumid=0#))

Wow, another amazing piece. Your efforts are really showing.

As for signing your work, don't think you need to, it has Emile written all over it in style :)

This is an incredible image Emile. Tho colour palette is really great, the composition superb, and it´s so detailed... the details are just incredible. You said it took you too much time, but all of us would like to have more and more time for our images, we would never finish them. Really great work Emile, congrats.

Spelling mistakes happen I suppose, but Chis? Sounds like something rude and sticky, I'm pretty sure I'm not sticky at least :D
