Hi,

I am wanting to make my 1st attempt to paint a face and then UV map it in XSI 3.0. I was wondering is there a way I can export a picture of my mesh when it's all spread out(like in the texture editor, so that I can edit it in photoshop and then bring it back into XSI when I am done.

Thanks,

Otter ;)

In the texture editor,

Edit->Stamp UV Mesh

... then youll have to make it full screen and take a screen grab - Ive yet to find a way to export the unwrapped geometry that the stamped UV mesh generates...then create a new image in PShop and paste the screen grab - crop down to the texture editor and paint on a new layer over the top, following the geometry. When finished - delete the pasted screen grab - it should fit perfectly...

Interesting. Are you using the XSI EXP? It could be that the XSI EXP version does not allow you to export the stamped image.

In both version 2 and 3 once you hit the Stamp UVs option in the texture editor XSI asks you where you want to save the stamped image and in what format.

I use it all the time. Stamp, save to Targa file, open in PShop and away I go.
