View Full Version : Game Art Asset Tutorial(s)
phantomworkshop 07-07-2007, 07:38 AM I'm looking around for some training on modeling, uv mapping and texturing some basic props for Games. Any tutorials that I could easily follow along with would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Lets see what I can find...
For textures in photoshop.

For specular and diffuse maps and their uses.

The modeling techniques are similar, but you want to keep lower counts and Use normal maps where applicable and efficient. I would recommend buying or downloading some of the gnomon dvd's on game asset topics. I really liked the videos on UVs because it's was a bit hard to WRAP lol your head around all the things you can do with them when I started.
This one should be helpful if you are using maya:

Good link there nkls. I also forgot to give some other great resources known as polycount.com and game-artist.net. Great places to talk about building assets and things.
