View Full Version : Procedural Building Plugin
Eudaimic 03-23-2003, 02:59 PM I'm looking for a procedural building plugin for use with Greeble. Primarily for highrise buildings.
Anyone know of something that might be usable for this? Or perhaps some trick that I can pull to make it look somewhat good?

Have you tried using a multi-subobject material for the textures?
Greeble is pretty darn robust. I've seen cutyscapes that where amazing using the plugin...Heck, I've made some myself that way.
Utilizing the Multi-subobject material you can assign random materials within greeble.
Remember that the syntax has to be like this:
1,15,23,43
In other words, the material IDs are seperated and listed individually, with commas seperating them. It's somewhat of a departure from most max syntaxs, but once you know that, it works great.
I'll be back to check if this helped...

Ah, didn't know greeble could do that. That's what you get for not RTFM :)
Still though, even with that I would love a procedural building texture generator. (So that I can excersize my right to be lazy :))
