Title: Mushroom lake
Name: Mike Pan
Country: Canada
Software: Blender

Obviously inspired by those over-done glowing mushroom images, I fashioned one(2, in fact) of my own.

The geometry is hand-created out of a sphere, and displaced with a texture to create the warpped look. Material is a simple ramp shader with extensive use of SSS(sub surface scatter). Paired with a couple of back light and that's what I got.

Entire image was created in Blender 2.44

Sometimes simplicity is everything, and indeed this is simple, and everything it should be. You've done a good job on making it feel translucent and warm. 4 stars dude

Here are some insanely high-res (http://mpan3.homeip.net/content/misc/mushrooms/)versions of the pic for wallpaper (http://mpan3.homeip.net/content/misc/mushrooms/)purposes
