View Full Version : ocean + moving camera = UVs follow camera
Mikael_CC 07-06-2007, 04:04 PM I've setup my ocean shader with film clips of real water on the ocean color, spec and foam color. However when i move the camera the file textures move with it, so it looks like a thin film on top of the water or flying carpet moving across a hilly terrain.
How do i get the file textures UVs to stay put while the ocean nurbs surface move with the camera?
Thank you
Mikael Johannesen.

Map the textures with a projection down the y axis, not as uv textures.

how do i do that with the nurbs surface that the ocean uses/creates?
Converting to polys defeats the whole purpose of the nurbs plane with higher tesselation close to the camera.

I'm assuming you are referring to a setup with "attach to camera" enabled in the create ocean options. As long as you use a texture projection instead of a uv mapping then the texture will be fixed in space even though the ocean plane moves with the camera.
