For me, one of the strangest behaviors of mankind is seeing execution as a entertainment, like it was on medieval time. With this on mind I want to create an image representing a group of court jesters celebrating a huge number of hang by the neck execution. Each jester represents a different type of crime. This is the first sketch of how I want then to look generically. Further on I will add some details and more concepts.

This is my first idea for the scenario composition. I´m not very sure about the framing of this scene, but in my mind I want the image to look like this in terms of proportion and size.

This is the cloth concept and acessories for the jesters. The cause of death in middle age was kill, steal, make wichcraft and go against the State laws. So, i create 4 court jesters... but I´m not shure on how the clothes of the fourth one, wich was meant to be the go against the State laws, can be... I would love to have your oppinion for that matter!
Soon I´ll post this jesters in colors...(I hope that would be soon)...

Hi Jujuba, welcome to the contest, I think you have great chances with this beutyfull and defying idea! Thus far, the concept of the characterclothing are the one I liked most, it has such a style, realy love how you manage the little details so the cloth suites the topic ( like the crossfix in the assassins hat!) You have such an awesome eye for character concept, needless to say I am becaming a great fan of your work, realy hoping that you post more art soon!

As for the scenario, I don't think that angle, concept can capture all the action and poetry that your idea and character concept deserves! I would rather do it on a public square, with lots of medieval fantasy house details, and an imponent castle on the background, it will add so much to your composition!

The fourth joly wich will be against governament laws, can have two faces (neither by painting or using a mask I don't know) because peaple ho conpire has to show always two faces, two sides: one for the govern and the other to his/ her ideals. I would also pay tribute to some physicists and astrologists who discovered many things in the past and (like the earth is not the center of the universe) and were censured by the church. You could do that by encraving some planets on the clothing, or the sun in the midle and the earth in the shoulders. Well those are my sugestions, I hope you like it!

Realy realy looking forward to seemore stuff from you and must say your idea has great potention once more! ^^ Keep up the good work Jujuba

This is my study for Jester’s colors… as I said before, I have 4 jesters, the Assassin, the Thief, the Witch and the last one, the girl against the State laws… the Mad. I tried to put in each one, elements according to their persona, like the shroud for the Assassin, and the Witch’s hat. For the Mad, I arrested their arms in two ways, because the State hasn’t just one form to arrest us with the law. And she wear a mask, that hide your real feeling… but only half of them, cause the other side of her face shows her real nature, reason for her be the Mad. Just studies, hope you like it! Waiting for comments soon!

Neat character designs. They all have their own distinct palettes and strong silhouettes, but they all; look like they fit together, mostly because of your consistent style. Nice work so far. Look forward to seeing how they'll all come together in your scene... Good luck and have fun!

First it would like to be thankful all that follow my progress in this journey for strange behaviors…
I posted my first sketch to the scenery days ago, but wasn’t satisfied. Then I bring the new version here, next to the personages and its action. The previous version was very distant, and it did not make look like to be the patio of a feudal.
I tried to place in this version some medieval houses, giving the impression of that the hanging is carried through inside of the village. In next update I intend to place the personages in scene… would adore opinions!

Hi Jujuba! I was watching your progression on the competition, and the little medieval village is looking cool! What about some cold mountains with snow on top of then on the far background?what do you think?just a sugestion to add more depth to the entire scene(de que cidade voce é mesmo?)!
good luck!
