View Full Version : shadow and depth in Storm Tracer ?

Hi,

a question for the Storm Tracer experts:

the "storm shadow" tag gives me the shadow, ZStorm gives me depth information. Is is possible to get both in one render run ? In other words: for rendering out the shadow I need a ground object. As far as I understand this I can see the Storm shadows only in the "color render". There is no way to get only the storm shadows in a seperate render pass, isn't it ? But as long as I leave the ground visible I won't get a "pure" storm depth render - the ground shouldn't be included in the depth render ...

cheers,
Gonzo

What version of C4D are you using Storm Tracer in? I used to have it but I never got a serial number to update it to R10

I'm using 9.1

Meanwhile I helped myself in the post process by using the alpha information of the storms in order to cut out the distracting ground in the depth render.

cheers,
Gonzo
