mihkeltt 03-23-2003, 01:24 AM ok, started to do the thing and finally got ready - tried to achive quite a high level of detail on a simple object and the result is the following. I'm still going to make a flame to it, but this is coming later.

looks good, but I think the texture/shader on the cylindrical tooth part thing (whatever you call it) should be tweaked a little bit something isn't right there
good job on the rest of it though

yeah, i know that the cylindrical spark maker thingy should be a little different from what it is right now, but i'll work on that one. thnx for the comments:)
yeah that would be the steel. i.e flint and steel.
pretty much perfect pic except for that. and maybe add a little lighter fluid to it as well.

But it looks like your render is not anti aliased. Or is it just the compression?

hey, you may want to try to get the striker to look more like metal and less like plastic. if i recall correctly, the pattern is 'X's not the horisontal you have.
