View Full Version : fluid > nothing happens after baked ..
everlite 07-05-2007, 04:34 AM Hey guys,
Playing with Fluid, with little luck.
I've set everything up ..
Cube - domain
sphere above - inflow
Clicked bake, bakes out the files, all there but nothing happens, do i need to reload the baked sequence back in?
Cheers - Dave

Hi,
Did you assign a directory to BAKE to? Usally if a directory isn't assigned on PCs than it won't BAKE.
Cheers,
Doug

Yes it did bake out the files to a pre assigned directory, if i click to open they're all there, a good 300 or so.
Once it's baked should i be able to see it in the viewport?

I usally go into solid view & step through each frame. Another option is go to frame 1 & hit ALT+A that will animate it.
Hope this helps,
Doug

Yeh i hit alt & A, still nothing. I just feel like i'm missing something, i watched a few video tutorials demo'ing the process and read the wiki, it all seems very basic. Could you please give me a really quick outline of the process, or alternatively attach a working blender file?
Cheers - Dave.

Well got it working, i didn't have the emitter/fuid inside the domain.
One thing that i'm confused about is the End time value, i was thinking this meant; when do you want the simulation to end in relation to the timeline/seconds. When i put it up to say 50, a replay the sim it goes really fast, literally within two frames, however when the value is at 0.30 it plays fine, any ideas?
