hi there,

I am wondering, how to use a custom curve for my spline IK?
I would like to replace the given one by creating with my own one.

just create your curve, goto spline IK options box and turn off auto-create curve. maya will ask you to select start and end joint and curve to use.

worth noting - the curve works alot better if cv's fall on the joints local rotation axis'. I usually use a linear curve if I'm not gonna be sliding the skeleton along the curve (ie: basic spline control in a characters back). If I'm doing something like a tongue and want to shift the skel along the curve to make him stick out his tongue I'll use a cubic curve.
