View Full Version : mentalray weirdness... geometry not deforming

Hullo,

I am trying to render a scene using mentalray, but I am getting a very strange problem. My character is made up of different geometries (separated arms, legs and so on) and when I try to render in Mentalray I get this strange problem where some of the geometry behaves as it should (being deformed by the rig and all) but some other doesn't (it just stays there still). I tried using the geometry cache (which has worked in the past) but now that doesn't work either.
The thing is that if I render the same thing with Maya software, everything works as it should.

Help please...

Turn off "Optimize Animation" in the Render Globals.

had the same problem, playblast worked fine for my character but not for MR.
i corercted it using a frame by frame technique (deleting history for the mesh at each frame)
hope u finf a solution.

acidream: thanks. I will try that

royterr: I think that would prove to be extremely time consuming unless I rendered them out using a batch file...
