not sure what I will do yet, but I very much like the idea of cute toys gone bad, or doing strange things, so it will be something along the lines of these, I guess! good luck to everyone!

I thought I'd sit down for an hour and doodle, sometimes it helps to think of a concept by just drawing and letting my mind wander

so far out of that session I got these ideas:
1: do a Jeckyl and Hyde treatment on the Looney Tunes characters..so they're barely recognizable(for copyright reasons too!!)maybe some joke on Crack or ICE being introduced on the WB set
2: A frame by frame image of one of my characters, (prob a rabbit) doing a Jeckyl and Hyde
3:Frankenstein rabbit??
4: a cute animal character in an image that is a pun on Britney Spears shaving her head
5: a cute 3d cartoon Pixar style Star, who's gone off the rails, living in a cheap hotel with hookers haha

this was my favourite from this mornings doodles. It's been fun so far- I rarely doodle anymore..prefer to go straight to 3d and make it up as I model, but maybe I'll do some more sketches this challenge.

two more ideas..
1: Noah's Ark leaves leaving a whole bunch or crazy assed critters behind-title: 'not everyone was invited on Noah's Ark'
2: a zoo with a special section for strange crazy animals

Nice sketches, bags of character. Reading your initial ideas though, I quite like the idea of an old Pixar character going off the rails - I just see a homeless Buzz Lightyear wasted in a gutter with his original packaging serving as a cardboard box home :D

I love your sketches. So far the Noah's ark is my favorite. But what would be the strange behavior in it? Isn't it quit normal to leave a bunch of creepy critters behind? :twisted:
May be you can alter it just a little bit. You could let Noah lead a bunch of creepy critters onto his ark while the "normal" animals have to stay outside.

Anyway this thread will be fun to follow.

ok, got my concept-this will be a parody of a 'Pixar' character. it will be on one of my favourite themes, the Elvisian Tragedy..or the Celebrity's fall from grace, but also a chance to poke fun at all those very clever but sickeningly cute Pixar characters!
So this will be a very famaous 3d cartoon star who's had it all, seen it all, and is now losing it all..very strange behavior for a cute cartoon star.

Splendid start here, John! The Pixar rabbit idea is a really fun one and could make a real good image. However, I'm in favour of the Noahs ark idea - simply because I'd love to see all the strange critters you will come up with for it.

thanks everyone, and sorry for the late reply..just swapped computers from my dual G5 Mac to an Octy Mac, and wasted a whole day having problems setting it up and transferring stuff from the old puter...grrrrr.
Anyway up and running now, and it's great. hopefully have some more to show in the next day or so
